We are very excited to announce that the North Carolina Green Business Fund has seen fit to award our business a grant of almost $120,000 to provide extremely low-cost energy audits and follow-up weatherization to (very) small businesses in Chatham and Lee counties! The small businesses need to be located in commercial property that was originally a residence, since residential properties are our specialty, and the structures need to have been built before 1990, since older homes are also our specialty.
SO GREAT!
The grant will provide at least 50 small businesses a full energy audit at about 1/10 the price of a full-cost audit ($50 vs. $500) and at least 25 businesses with half-off weatherization up to a total of $2500 – - energy efficiency upgrades that will result in AT LEAST a 25% improvement in air-tightness to the structure. The follow-up quality assurance audit (by an outside auditor) will be provided completely free.
Between the low-cost audit and the 50% subsidy, small businesses should see a VERY RAPID return on their investment. ALL WORK must be completed by December 31 of this year.
The project also includes site-delivered workshops on energy efficiency at work and at home, and our educator, Adrienne Bashista, will be holding a number of public workshops about energy efficiency over the next couple of months.
For full details, please go to the information page on our website and CALL US to learn more or to schedule an audit. (919) 360-1570.
